The 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette is a luxury liner that gives the nicest interior,
best body style and outstanding driving characteristics. It comes in three models

the GL, GLS and Premiere. All models are powered by just one powertrain - a 185-horsepower
3.4-liter V6 teamed with four-speed automatic transmission supplying power to
the front wheels.
For this year, Silhouette comes with a new look from front to rear. All models
receive standard two sliding passenger doors, front bucket seats, two captain's
chairs in the middle row and split bench in the third row to seat three persons.
It is also loaded with nice touches including anti-lock brake system, front side
airbags, load-leveling suspension and Onstar assistance system.
Oldsmobile Silhouette's Premiere model is offered with all the necessary standard
features and comfort equipments. All passengers in the second and third row seats
can take pleasure in their leather seats and the TV that can be fold down from
the ceiling including VCR player and hook ups for video games. Standard power
features are also offered such as eight-way power seating and radio controls in
the steering wheel.
Silhouette's handling and ride is very good for a minivan. It has a responsive
rack-and-pinion steering, strong brakes and its firm suspension gives it a carlike
handling in every corner. The Silhouette runs quietly in highway speeds and it
has a touring suspension with automatic leveling and air inflation and detectors
that advise the driver if the van is about to back into something.

For 2001, the video entertainment center's flat panel has also been improved.
It comes bigger with a measure of 6.8 inches and it can still be fold down from
the ceiling behind the two front-seat passengers. An independent rear console
is composed of independent rear-seat controls for heating and cooling systems
together with remote controls for the video player and for the in-dash stereo.
