Oldsmobile Silhouette review
Oldsmobile Silhouette is one of the few minivans that indisputably satisfy the drivers
with its well-refined performance and carlike ride and handling. It stands out
in a market flooded with different choices of minivans due to its perfect combination
of ample space, excellent handling and performance and an amazing touch of luxury.
Silhouette's Premiere edition brags its top of the line video entertainment system
that allows rear seat occupants enjoy their much loved DVD or play their favorite
video games. To guarantee safety, Silhouette is outfitted with safety features
like antilock brakes, side impact airbags and front passenger airbags. Enhancing
the vehicle's stability and control is the standard traction control on front
wheel drive models.
Oldsmobile Silhouette is fun to drive. It has an impressive acceleration and
the powerful engine works without any irritations. The vehicle's center-row seats
are comfy and accessible. Providing the driver and the occupants a safe ride are
the standard anti-lock brakes and the side-impact air bags for the front seats.
The GLS and Premiere editions have a rear parking-assist system that helps the
rear of the minivan avoid any blockage to the rear.
The Silhouette's roomy interior accommodates seven adults. It has two bucket
seats in the front and the second row captain's chairs are standard. Found in
the third row is either a three-passenger bench seat or a stowable
bench that comes along with a floor-mounted covered storage tray. The GLS and
Premiere editions receive dual-zone climate-control system for the person occupying
the front seats, perforated leather seat trim and an eight-way power seat with
driver's memory.
All models also possess OnStar communication system and remote keyless entry.
Found under the hood is Silhouette's sole powertrain ? the 3.4-liter V-6 engine
that generates 185-horsepower and attached to a four-speed automatic transmission.
The GLS and Premiere editions also brag its Versatrak all-wheel drive.
